Principal’s Report

The Semester 1 Reports are now live and available via Compass now.

Please note that the Progression Points on the Semester 1 Reports are based on data and evidence from the Learning Tasks completed throughout the semester, in conjunction with other pieces of the student’s work and assessments throughout this past half year.

Please note that due to the protected action by the Australian Education Union, teachers who are Union members have not written report comments for the End of Semester Reports, as this ban is still in place. Overall progression points and the information from the Progress Reports for Term 1 will still be visible for all Student Reports. Please let me know if you have any queries.

Parent-Teacher Interviews are being held on this Thursday 25th June (11.30am to 6.30pm) and bookings can be made via Compass. This is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress.

As we move into the cooler months, we often see an increase in seasonal illnesses such as colds and other infections. Some students may be prescribed medications, including antibiotics, during this time.

We would like to remind families that any medication required to be administered during the school day need to be brought to the school office by a parent or carer. Medications should not be carried by students.

A Medical Authority Form must also be completed and submitted to the office before any medication can be administered at school. This helps us ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students and allows staff to follow the correct dosage and administration instructions.

If your child requires medication at school, please contact the office if you have any questions regarding the process or a require a copy of the Medical Authority Form or download it here.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.

This Week…

Exciting Grade 6 Sporting Achievements This Week…

We represented EPS at Netball, with two teams playing for Emerald Primary School.

In Team 1, the players were Poppy C, Jas, Indi, Eliza, Alicia, Indi M, Zoe and Olivia. Overall, Emerald won most of their games and only lost one at the start. A highlight for Emerald Team 1 was the way everyone helped each other throughout the games and showed great teamwork.

In Team 2, the players were Georgia, Estella, Marnie, Poppy, Amberlie, Anabelle, Tanith and Maddie. Emerald Team 2 won all of their games, and some of them were quite high-scoring! A highlight for Team 2 was our connection and how well we played together, even though we had never played as a team before.

Overall, both teams did a wonderful job! We were proud of the way we supported each other, celebrated our goals, made interceptions and improved our skills throughout the day.

The netball teams felt proud of the way they got better at their skills and shooting.

Eliza and Georgia

We had the A Team and the B Team represent Emerald Primary School, and both teams played in Division 1.

The coach for Team 1 was Danel G. The players were Peyton G, Oakley J, Ash T, Red B, Andy H, Caleb L, Reve M, Ashtyn L, Hayden B, Jagger P, Liam H and Seth E.

Team 1 played against Cockatoo, Gembrook, Macclesfield and Emerald Team 2. They beat Cockatoo by 30 points and Gembrook by 41 points. They also had a very close game against Emerald Team 2, winning by 10 points. In their last game, Macclesfield beat Emerald Team 1 by 12 points, but Emerald still worked hard and kicked 1 goal and 7 points.

Team 2 included Conor H, Kayden D, Henry P, Mason, Jack S, Lucas K, Parker K, Max G, Zeke G and Travis H. Team 2 played against Cockatoo, Gembrook, Macclesfield and Emerald Team 1.

Team 2 played Gembrook first and won by 3 points! They then played Emerald Team 1 and lost by 10 points. After that, they played Cockatoo and won by 49 points. Finally, they played Macclesfield and won by 30 points.

One of the most exciting moments was when Parker K did an amazing sidestep around an opponent, which will be remembered forever!

Both teams showed great effort by not giving up, keeping on pushing and trying their best, even when the odds were low. Emerald Team 1 and Team 2 both made it through to Divisionals, which makes it the first time ever!

Jack S and Reve

In Volleyball, Emerald Primary School had three teams: EPS Team 1, Team 2 and Team 3.

Team 1 players were Venice, Nathan, Miller, Jack, Zoe, Malaika, Mitchell, Hunter and Odin. Team 1 was undefeated for the day. They played against Cockatoo 1, Gembrook, Macclesfield and Cockatoo 2. They won all of their games and finished at the top of the ladder, which was a very proud moment for them.

Team 2 players were Skye, Georgie, Jordy, Campbell, Aiden, Abi, Sophie, Harper and Xavier. Team 2 also had a fantastic day. First, they played Menzies Creek, then Emerald Team 3, Selby and finally Cockatoo 3. In the end, they did not lose a single game and came second on the ladder.

Team 3 players were Scarlett, Cora, Matilda, Joe, Indie T, Sam, Macey, Sofia and Logan. Team 3 played against Emerald Team 2, Cockatoo 3, Menzies Creek and Selby. Even though Team 3 lost three games, that is okay because they still tried their hardest, showed great teamwork and managed to win one game.

All of the Emerald teams tried their best to succeed and supported each other throughout the day. One of the best things was that all of the teams got a little bit better at a new sport!

Joe, Georgie and Odin

On 23/6/2026, the EPS girls played EDEC soccer at Monbulk Soccer Club. There were two girls teams: Emerald 1 and Emerald 2. Emerald 1 played in Division 1 and Emerald 2 played in Division 2. The Emerald girls teams did not make it through to Divisionals, but it was still a really fun day.

The players in the Emerald 1 team were Poppy G, Indi McK, Amberlie, Zoe P, Indi McQ, Zoe B, Kiah, Tanith, Venice and Sophie.

Emerald 1 played Macclesfield first, then Cockatoo, Selby and finally Emerald 2. We won lots of games and had a great time playing together. We also had an amazing coach who taught us well and helped us throughout the day.

The players in the Emerald 2 team were Annabelle, Poppy M, Harper, Indie T, Matilda, Aria, Bea, Eliza, Macey, Sofia and Cora.

Emerald 2 played Macclesfield, Selby, Cockatoo and then Emerald 1. I really enjoyed playing with my friends, and for some of us, it was the first time we had played soccer. It was a lot more fun than we thought it would be!

We showed sportsmanship by playing fairly, encouraging our teammates and celebrating the small wins. Everyone’s skills improved as the day went on, and by the end we were proud of how hard we tried!

Zoe B and Macey

We represented EPS at the EDEC Boys Soccer Tournament in Monbulk. There were two boys teams that went to play soccer for Emerald Primary School.

Team 1 included Hunter, Jack S, Jack W, Andy, Oliver, Oakley, Lucas, Ash, Ashtyn, Reve and Jagger.

As a team, we won two games and drew two games. We also won the grand final against Macclesfield, with the final score being 1–0! Across the day, Team 1 scored five goals in total. One thing most of us learnt for the first time was the offside rule. We were really resilient when that rule came into play and kept trying our best.

Team 2 played against Gembrook, Selby and Macclesfield twice. The players in Team 2 were Mitchell, Miller, Hayden, Campbell, Kayden, Henry, Odin and Ollie.

Unfortunately, Team 2 lost all four of their games, but they still showed great teamwork and improved throughout the day. Their proudest moment was how well they worked together and strategised their gameplay. Their skills got better every game, which was awesome to see.

Thank you to Oliver’s dad and Mrs Porter for coaching us and supporting the teams on the day.
