Principal's Report We look forward to welcoming grandparents and special friends to Emerald Primary School on Thursday 13th August. This is always a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their learning, classrooms and school with some of the important people in their lives. Principal's Report Welcome back to another busy and exciting term at Emerald Primary School! There is certainly plenty to look forward to over the coming weeks. We begin with our Academic Awards this Friday, 16 July, recognising the hard work and achievements of our students. Throughout the term, we will also welcome Smile Squad, cheer on our Grade 6 students in Winter Sports, participate in the Australian Maths Competition and enjoy our always-popular Book Fair. Principal's Report The Semester 1 Reports are now live and available via Compass now. Please note that the Progression Points on the Semester 1 Reports are based on data and evidence from the Learning Tasks completed throughout the semester, in conjunction with other pieces of the student’s work and assessments throughout this past half year. Please note that due to the protected action by the Australian Education Union, teachers who are Union members have not written report comments for the End of Semester Reports, as this ban is still in place. Principal's Report We look forward to meeting our families at the upcoming Semester 1 Parent-Teacher Interviews on next Thursday 25th June, to be held from 11:30am - 6:30pm. Principal's Report A highlight of the past week has been the tremendous success of our Year 5 Market Day. Our students worked incredibly hard to plan, create and run their stalls, demonstrating creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial skills throughout the process. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and engagement from students, staff and families on the day. Principal's Report We are looking forward to the Grade 5 Market Day tomorrow, where students will showcase their creativity, enterprise skills and teamwork through a range of stalls and activities. Students are welcome to bring along some spending money (up to $10) and support the hard work of our Grade 5 students. Principal's Report All members of the EPS community are invited to attend the AGM to be held on Thursday 28th May, 7.30pm in the school staff room. Our school is using an online system for new Foundation (Prep) enrolments to Victorian government schools, called VicStudents. Principal's Report This coming Friday morning, we are looking forward to welcoming local police officers to EPS before school as part of Walk to School Day. Students will have the opportunity to meet the officers, learn more about road safety and receive some fun temporary tattoos to celebrate the occasion. We encourage families to support students in walking, riding or scooting safely to school where possible. We have already had the Ambulance Service and CFA visit this week with the Prep students! Principal's Report We have had some requests to run this session during school hours, so we are doing a repeat next Wednesday 20th May for Parents and Carers who will be assisting with PMP for Prep Students this term. We invite you to attend a Volunteer Induction session next Wednesday 20th May in the Library at 2.45pm. The Volunteer Induction Handbook will be distributed at this meeting and discussed. This Handbook will also be distributed electronically after the session to those who are unable to attend. Principal's Report As per the Compass message yesterday, our apologies for any inconvenience caused, but we have decided to move the Colour Fun Run from this Friday 8th May to next Monday 11th May. With heavy rain predicted the day before and on the day, and to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, it has been necessary to make this change.
