Human Powered Vehicles (HPV) at Emerald Primary School
Emerald Primary School is proud to take part in the Victorian HPV Grand Prix Series, with students participating in three major events each year. Our HPV program encourages teamwork, fitness, and goal-setting as students ride specially designed pedal-powered vehicles in endurance and speed races. Students set personal goals to complete as many laps as possible in the endurance race and achieve their fastest lap in the speed race.

Each cart is uniquely named by our students. They play a key role in design and team identity, with carts renamed and designed each year by the incoming Grade 6 cohort.

The Emerald Primary School HPV program concludes with the exciting EDEC Lang Lang event, where students take on both a speed event and an obstacle course, testing their control, focus, and steering skills.

This year, Emerald Primary School is proud to have four carts on the track, supported by a strong and enthusiastic team of 26 students, parents, sponsors and our Grade 6 teaching team.

We are thankful for all the parent support with our HPV Program each year. It is always a great day at each event where both our parent community, HPV students and Grade 6 teachers work together to achieve great results as a team.
