Principal’s Report

Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ privacy policy and the Schools’ privacy collection notice.

Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students policy EPS-Photographing-filming-recording-students-policy  describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.

We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use Google Workspace for Education safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information. If after reviewing the guidance, you have any questions or concerns regarding your child using Google Workspace for Education, please contact the school.

We look forward to our next Whole School Assembly on this Friday 20th February, where the focus is Student Leadership and we will be presenting all of our 2026 School Captains and Leaders with their badges.

Please be advised of the following student free days, when our staff will be completing professional learning activities or parent teacher interviews:

  1. Thursday 12th February – Parent-Teacher Connect Meetings from 1pm to 6pm; classes finish at 12pm on this day. Supervision at school is available on this afternoon until 3.30pm.
  2. Monday 20th April – Curriculum Day
  3. Thursday 25th June – Parent-Teacher Interviews
  4. Monday 13th July – Curriculum Day
  5. Friday 4th December – Assessment & Reporting Day

This Week…

From 1 January 2026, families eligible for CSEF will see an increase in support to $400 for primary school children, up from $154. Applications for 2026 CSEF support will open from 27 January 2026 and closes on the 26 June 2026.

If you currently hold a valid Concession Card, please come into the Emerald Primary School office to collect a form and submit it along with a copy of your Concession Card. 

A downloadable version of the form is available here. You may complete this at home and bring the filled-in form, together with a copy of your Concession Card, to the school office.

Last Thursday, our lovely crossing supervisor Kazz unfortunately broke her other foot. She would like everyone to know that she is missing seeing you all and is looking forward to returning at the start of Term 2.

We wish her a smooth and speedy recovery and send her all our best while she heals.

Canteen Update

Please be advised that Loren will be on leave from 27 February to 8 May. During this time, Kristi will be managing the school canteen.

On Thursday 5 March (EDEC House Sports Day) the school canteen will be closed, as Kristi will be operating the EDEC canteen at the Athletics Club. The online ordering system will also be unavailable on this day to prevent orders being placed.
