Principal’s Report
As we near the end of 2023 and the school year, I wanted to say congratulations to all of our wonderful EPS students on trying to achieve their very best all year and succeeding with attaining many of their learning goals.
With a number of activities arranged for the Grade 6 students to celebrate the end of their time with us, we look forward to wishing them well on their new adventures at secondary school.
I wanted also to take a moment to thank some of the ancillary staff who work away at EPS in the background to keep our school well-maintained and looking great – these two people joined us this year and we have come to include them in our EPS family! David Meyers is our Maintenance Worker and Kylie Surijan is our School Gardener – welcome to you both and thank you very much for all of your hard work and care for our school this year. There are a few regular volunteers I would like to acknowledge too – Penelope who has helped out in the STEM classroom all year and Jill, our ever-faithful and amazing Library Assistant – thank you both! Thank you to Danielle Gottschalk and Tahlia Studham for volunteering during this year at different times to support in classrooms. Lastly, a big thanks to our Uniform Shop Co-ordinators – Kylie Spry and Sharon Nicholls, these ladies took on these roles a couple of years ago and have done an amazing job with keeping our students supplied with uniform and bringing in a couple of new items. We welcome Kristie Holden and Samantha Hardiman into this role next year – thank you for jumping on board!
I would like to wish all of our students, families and staff a happy festive season and a relaxing and safe break over the summer.
School Sport Victoria Award 2023
We were very excited to hear that Matt Stella received a 10 Year Service Award from School Sport Victoria recently. Matt not only has taught PE at EPS for many years, but has also co-ordinated our EDEC cluster sporting events with the 6 local schools – well done Matt and thank you for your dedication to sport at EPS and in the wider community.

Breaking up is hard to do!!!!!!!!
It’s time for the canteen to break up with single use straws, these will not be available in 2023
More than 8 million tonnes of plastic enters the world’s ocean every year and over 90% is single use plastic.
So let’s say bye bye to straws and hello to BYO. We highly recommend reusable options over all disposables. Students can purchase a reusable silicone straw in its own case with the school Emblem for $4 from the canteen (over the counter or via online) or uniform shop.
