Principal’s Report

The Grade 4 and Grade 6 students have returned from their respective camps over the last few weeks – exhausted and tired, but full of excitement over their experiences at Sovereign Hill and Woorabinda camps. I wanted to say a BIG thank you to the staff, both Teachers and Education Support Staff who attended and make these wonderful opportunities for our students possible every year.

The year has flown by!  As we head into the last few weeks of the school year, when look forward to reflecting on students’ achievements and the fun we have had through the year, here are the arrangements to finish up the term:

  • Tuesday 10th December – EPS “Step-Up to 2025” morning
  • Friday 13th December – Grade 6 Graduation
  • Thursday 19th December – Student Reports available
  • Friday 20th December – Last day of term; Assembly at 9.15am; School finishes at 2.30pm.

We are once again excited to be holding our Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day on Thursday 28th November.
Everyone is welcome to arrive any time from 11.30am, which is a little while after Recess finishes.

The meeting point for your children and their guests to find each other will be outside their classrooms. Guests can go straight there, or if not sure where to go, attend the Main Office and student helpers will be there to guide them.

From there, everyone is welcome to pop-in to classrooms, complete the EPS Treasure Trail and visit the Book Fair.

Sausages in bread and drinks will be available for purchase at the Sausage Sizzle.

The event will finish at 1.00pm, the start of our school Lunch break.

Friday 29th November will be a gold coin donation free dress day, with the proceeds going to The EB Foundation. Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) is the name for a group of rare inherited skin disorders that cause the skin to become very fragile. Please come to school in free dress on this day with a touch of blue and/or wings to show your support. One of our students experiences this condition and her family supports us to conduct this fundraising for this day, which goes to the wider cause to find treatments and cures. The Walk for Wings event was held back at the end of October for this cause, and our funds raised will go towards it also.

We are coming into an important time of year regarding planning for 2025. If you are aware of any families who are looking at enquiring to enrol at EPS and have not submitted enrolment forms for next year, please encourage them to contact the school ASAP. Also, if you are exiting the school at the end of this year, please let us know as soon as possible so we can include this in our planning.
