Principal’s Report

Welcome back to the start of Term 4 at Emerald Primary School! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful and refreshing break, ready for what promises to be a busy and exciting final term of the year.

We’re starting the term with plenty to look forward to — including Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day, which will be held next Wednesday 15th October. This is always a highlight on our school calendar and a wonderful opportunity for students to share their learning and pride in our school with those who mean so much to them. Please remember to RSVP by completing this form: Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day RSVP

That same week we will also be celebrating Book Fair Week, a fantastic chance for students to explore and purchase new books while supporting our school library.

Our Early Act Club and Student Action Team have some fun events planned too, including PJ Dress-Up Day and Crazy Hair Day, both of which are sure to bring plenty of colour, creativity and laughter to our school!

We are also thrilled to be welcoming our 2026 Prep students as they begin their transition visits next week. This is such an exciting time as our newest learners start their Emerald journey, while our Grade 6 students begin their final term with us, preparing for their Graduation at the end of the year.

Finally, a huge thank you in advance to everyone supporting preparations for our much-anticipated School Fair. To help get our grounds looking their best, we’ll be holding a Working Bee on Saturday 8th November. We’d love to see as many families as possible come along — many hands make light work, and it’s always a great community afternoon – with music and food as well!

It’s shaping up to be a wonderful term of learning, celebration, and connection!

This Week…

Step Into the Joy of Reading — Book Fair is Coming!

We’re excited to welcome families to our annual Book Fair, running from Monday 13th to Friday 17th October in the Basketball Stadium foyer!

We will be open for purchases:
• Before School: 8:45am – 9:00am
• After School: 3:15pm – 3:45pm
• Plus, we’ll be open during Grandparent/Special Friends Day so everyone can join in the fun!

Each class will visit the Book Fair during the week, giving students time to browse and bring home a wishlist of books they’re excited about. These wishlists are simply for sharing — there’s no obligation to purchase; it’s just a great way to explore new reads together.

Every book purchased helps support our school library and encourages a lifelong love of reading.
Whether you’re buying or just browsing, we’d love to see you there — come and explore the magic of books with us!

Upcoming Events…

Our Working Bees are always a lot of fun, with good music playing and the kids loving getting involved and having a play. We would love some help with weeding, tree trimming, and general tidying. Please bring any extra tools you might have, but remember to label them clearly. We hope to see you there!
