As we come to the end of another busy and vibrant term at Emerald Primary School, it is a wonderful opportunity to pause and reflect on the many achievements and experiences our students have enjoyed.
Our classrooms have been filled with great learning, with students across all year levels showing growth, curiosity, and persistence in their studies. Alongside this, we have been fortunate to enjoy a wide variety of events that have enriched our school community.
One of the highlights of the term was the Grade 6 Production, The X Factory. The students put on a brilliant show full of talent, humour, and energy. A huge thank you to the EPS staff team, and especially to Dan MacEoin, for their leadership and direction in making the production such a success.
Our sporting endeavours have also shone, with students proudly representing the school across a range of events and competitions. Book Week brought colour and creativity, with dress-ups, storytelling, and our staff performance making it a memorable celebration of reading. We celebrated our Prep students reaching the milestone of 100 days of school—what an exciting achievement for our youngest learners! Students across the school also stretched their minds in maths competitions, showcasing problem-solving and logical thinking. Another exciting development this term has been the installation of new playgrounds, which have been met with enormous enthusiasm and joy from our students.
Looking ahead to next term, we have many exciting events and activities to look forward to. Our Grade 4 students will head off to camp at Sovereign Hill, and our Early Act Club and Student Action Team are coordinating fun days for everyone—PJ Day and Crazy Hair Day. We are also very excited to begin welcoming our new Prep students for 2026 as they join us for Transition sessions. Other big highlights will include Grandparents’ Day (earlier than usual this year, on Wednesday 15th October), which coincides with the Book Fair, and of course our much-anticipated School Fair on Saturday 15th November!
Finally, thank you to all families who have already completed the Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey. It closes this Friday 19th September, and with just over 50 responses so far, we are really grateful for your input. If you haven’t yet had the chance, please take a few minutes to share your feedback and ideas for the future direction of our school. The link is available in previous Compass reminders.
