Principal’s Report
During your wanderings through school grounds, you would have seen the many changes to our buildings and grounds. I am so excited about our brilliant new playgrounds in the Prep – 2 and 3 – 6 areas. Each playground has been carefully designed to challenge our students’ physical ability and build on their collaborative play. A very big thank you to Julia Weir and our school council members for putting our long-term dream into action and brightening our beautiful space.
You may have also noticed the stunning mural at the front of the school, next door to our main entrance. Inge Terkildsen has created a dreamy depiction of Emerald, paying special acknowledgement to the Wurundjeri and Bunurong land. This piece of art is a timely reminder of how fortunate we are to live, learn and play in Emerald and come together as a school community. A heartfelt thank you to Inge, for so generously giving us her time and expert skills in creating this masterpiece.
Finally, we are over the moon to announce the new walls constructed in Prep and 1/2 learning spaces. Our students were delighted to walk into their classrooms on Tuesday morning. They look so much larger and brighter. Many of these projects were made possible by the relentless work of our fundraising committee, led by Peta Woodyard and of course the generosity of our school community. Thank you everyone!
Our staff look forward to seeing you at our assemblies commencing this Friday, the many sporting events for senior school and of course, the highlight of Term 3, Grade 6 Production.
Take care and keep warm!

Smile Squad is coming to Emerald Primary School
Dear families,
The Smile Squad team from EACH are coming to our school from Wednesday 30th July 2025.
Smile Squad is the Victorian Government free school dental program.
This means all students can get a free dental check-up, preventive services, and treatment at school.
How to access free dental care
We need your consent before we can provide services. Consent is usually provided by a parent or guardian.
Sign up to Smile Squad at: https://bit.ly/smilesquadvic
Please complete and submit the consent form, this will be sent directly to EACH.
Paper copies of the consent form are available. Please contact the school office if you would like to request one.
The electronic consent form can be translated into more than 100 languages, and the paper form is available in 13 languages.

If so please bring them to the Emerald SES to be recycled. Emerald Primary School is now a registered donation partner with the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme. So your rubbish can be recycled and each empty container earns 10c. Please donate the money you collect to our school, so we can fundraise for more drink taps on the school oval.
