Principal’s Report

We look forward to meeting our families at the upcoming Parent-Teacher Interviews.  Please note that this is a student free day at school as the interviews are held during the day and into the evening. This meeting with your child’s teacher is a great opportunity to:

  • discuss the Semester 1 2025 report
  • learn more about your child’s academic, emotional and social development
  • make plans with the teacher about how you can both support your child with their learning growth

As always, please contact myself or our Assistant Principal, Carice D’Rozario, if you have any general concerns or queries.

The Semester 1 Reports are live and available via

Compass now, as per advertised on the calendar.

Please note that the Progression Points on the Semester 1

Reports are based on data and evidence from the Learning Tasks completed throughout the semester, in conjunction with other pieces of the student’s work and assessments throughout this past half year.

In addition, there has been a change to student reporting

for Mathematics in Victorian government schools.

All Victorian government schools have started using Mathematics

curriculum 2.0 in 2025. At Emerald Primary School we are using the revised Mathematics curriculum for school reporting from Semester 1 2025.

In your child’s previous report, the teacher reported against the 3 strands of the achievement standard for Mathematics (Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability). Under the Mathematics curriculum 2.0, your child’s teacher will report against the achievement standard, providing a single, aggregated score.

As the achievement standards reported on have changed, the first time you receive a report under the Mathematics curriculum 2.0, it will

only show achievement not progress. For all reports after this, progress will be shown against the single achievement standard.

Parent-Teacher Interviews are being held on, Thursday 3rd June (11.30am to 6.30pm).

This is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and share further queries about the mathematics curriculum 2.0.

A reminder that Thursday 3rd July is a pupil-free day.

The Parents Battle Of the Bands is ON!
It will be held at Belgrave’s beloved venue Sooki Lounge, with a total of 5 local primary schools participating! Our School’s Parents Band, The Tall Ones will be performing on Thursday, the 31st of July, at 7pm.
All funds raised from ticket sales go straight back to supporting the performing arts and music programs at the participating schools.
Proceeds are shared based on the number of tickets each school sells—so the more tickets our community buys, the more our school benefits!
The real winners? The schools that rally the biggest crowd!
It’s a legendary night of live music, laughs, and top-notch entertainment (just ask anyone who’s been before). Plus, it’s a great way to connect with families across different school communities.
Follow us on Instagram and Facebook at @parents_battle_of_the_bands to catch the vibe—and don’t forget to grab your tickets. When booking, be sure to select the band you’re cheering for to make your support count!

If so please bring them to the Emerald SES to be recycled. Emerald Primary School is now a registered donation partner with the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme. So your rubbish can be recycled and each empty container earns 10c. Please donate the money you collect to our school, so we can fundraise for more drink taps on the school oval.
