Principal's Report Thank you to Peta Woodyard and Olivia McLeod for running our first “Family Picnic Night”! It was a great evening weather-wise and a wonderful opportunity for our EPS community to gather and enjoy each other’s company, not to mention being entertained by some excellent performances on the night! Principal's Report Our “Fundraising & Fun Team” are busy organising a family-friendly fun event for the evening of Saturday 21st March. It will be held at the school from 5pm to 8pm, with food vans, entertainment and a raffle. All funds raised will be going towards the refurbishment and repair of the Friendship Tree Garden. Principal's Report _ Olivia C.C. of Grade 4 attended the Diving State Championships this past weekend and won 3 Silver state medals! Amazing work Olivia! Principal's Report It was wonderful to hand out so many leadership badges to our Year 6 students at last week’s assembly. We are very proud of all our student leaders and would like to especially congratulate our new School Captains on the outstanding job they did running their first assembly. They demonstrated confidence, responsibility and teamwork, setting a positive example for our whole school community. Congratulations also to the Year 5 students who were selected to join the Early Act team and will be developing their leadership skills through their work with Mrs Forsythe, Hollie and our Rotary representatives. Principal's Report Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ privacy policy and the Schools’ privacy collection notice. Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students policy EPS-Photographing-filming-recording-students-policy  describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. Principal's Report Bookings are now open for the Parent-Teacher Connect Meetings on Thursday 12th February, running from 1.00pm to 6.00pm.   You can book times via Compass. Regular classes finish at 12pm on the day, but we are able to supervise students from then until 3.30pm if you are not able to collect your children earlier. Please advise your child's teacher or the Office Staff, or send an email to emerald.ps@education.vic.gov.au, if you need to have your child/children stay until 3.30pm. Principal's Report School preparedness and pre-emptive actions for the bushfire season Schools and early childhood services undertake a range of activities each year to prepare for bushfires and grassfires. The Department of Education conducts an annual fire risk assessment of schools and early childhood services. Those at the greatest levels of risk are published on the Bushfire At-Risk Register (BARR) and Category 4 list. Schools at the highest levels of risk (Categories 0, 1 and 2) take pre-emptive actions on elevated fire danger days in their Local Government Area according to their fire risk category to minimise the risk [...]
