Principal's Report Next week is an exciting one at Emerald Primary School as we celebrate Children’s Book Week! Principal's Report Congratulations to our Preps who have thrived in their first 100 days of school! Today began with a student and staff parade displaying our ‘older, brighter, smarter’ students in their fabulous costumes. Our school community had the opportunity to cheer our kids on and acknowledge the hard work and resilience this group have already shown. The assembly concluded with a Prep dance with their Grade 6 buddies and teachers. The party continued with a prep disco and a games afternoon. Principal's Report Congratulations to our recipients of the ‘Star of the Week’ awards presented at last week’s assembly. It’s great to see our students dive into the learning pit right off the bat. Well done to our Divisional Football and Soccer players who attended their events this week. We always feel so proud to watch our students shine in different arenas always displaying courage and sportsmanship. Principal's Report During your wanderings through school grounds, you would have seen the many changes to our buildings and grounds. I am so excited about our brilliant new playgrounds in the Prep – 2 and 3 – 6 areas. Each playground has been carefully designed to challenge our students’ physical ability and build on their collaborative play. We now wish Ollie D. of Grade 6 all the very best, as he finished 4th in his age group and qualified for the State Cross Country event on 24th July. Go Ollie! Principal's Report Thank you to the EPS community and the local Rotary Club for getting behind this cause last Sunday and supporting me to slide! The Emerald and surrounds community came out in force to support the “sliders”. It was a fun afternoon, but also an excellent opportunity to learn more about this disease and the fight to find a cure and treatments. A final fundraising total will be announced on Friday. Principal's Report We are excited to announce that the Swimming Program will be occurring in Weeks 9 and 10 of this term! If you go into Compass you will see how to register your student/s and pay for them to participate in the program this year, which runs from Grade Prep to Grade 6. Students will participate in 5 swimming lessons over a week. Please contact us if you have any queries. Registrations and payments need to be completed by Friday 6th June 2025.
