DESCRIPTION:Bookings are now open for the Parent-Teacher Connect Meetings on Thursday 16th February\, running from 12.30pm to 8pm. This year the meetings will be in-person and you can book times via Compass. Students are dismissed at 12pm on the day\, but we are able to supervise students from then until 3.30pm if you are not able to collect your children earlier. Please advise your child’s teacher or the Office Staff\, or send an email to emerald.ps@education.vic.gov.au\, if you need to have your child/children stay until 3.30pm. These meetings are a great opportunity for parents and carers to help teachers to get to know their child/children\, reflect on the student’s learning growth and data from 2022\, and to establish the ongoing learning partnership to support the students to do their best throughout the year. \n

DESCRIPTION:For the first time since 2019\, Carols By Candlelight will be a live event this year. \nThe venue is at the Rotunda near the Lake at Emerald Lake.\nEmerald Primary School has been asked to perform in some way during the event.\nOur Ukulele Orchestra\, ukulele students and a carols choir will be representing our school.\nThere will be a whole school carol and the Year 2’s will be playing the ukulele for everyone.\nThe overall event will have a lot of local bands and singing groups.\nOur 20 minute contribution will start at 6pm.\nPerformers will be required on site and ready to go at 5.45pm\nThis is a voluntary performance (although the orchestra has been “volunteered”) by myself to be a part of things.\nIf your family is available and your children are interested\, we would love to see you on the night. You need not commit to the whole evening. After your children have performed\, well\, the night is your own.\nThere will be some lunchtime rehearsals both this week and next in preparation for our performance.\nHope to see you there.\nDan MacEoin.
